David F. Sterling brings to the table a unique blend of technical skill competencies and professional expertise.  He is a licensed insurance and investment professional and a Florida Bar licensed attorney.

The tie that binds his multi-disciplinary expertise is his years of experience in trust and estate administration.  As he puts it, "it's one thing to create and present a plan; it's quite another to execute it to make it work."

He is a strong advocate of insurance based solutions when appropriate.  He has achieved national recognition for his work in annuity contract analysis and the practical application of annuities and other insurance products to the financial and estate planning process. This past September David was a featured speaker on the topic of annuities at the ABA's Joint Real Property and Trust Law/Tax Sections' National Conference.

David is a frequent presenter at professional conferences which have included local bar associations and estate planning councils, Regional FPA and FSP Chapters, Insurance Marketing Organizations and State Departments of Financial Services.

He serves on several American and Florida State Bar committees including Insurance and Financial Planning, Non Tax Issues Affecting the Planning and Administration of Estates and Trusts, Trust Law, IRAs and Employee Benefits.  He recently chaired an ABA task force, which examined the need for regulatory and tax reform of annuity contract structure and transactions.

David also belongs to the Financial Planning Association and has served as an Advisory Board member for the Suncoast Chapter. He has represented clients in annuity dispute cases and currently maintains an independent advisory and consulting practice in Sarasota, FL.  David can be contacted at (941) 366-6402 or dfsterling@verizon.net
