Russell
E. Haddleton is a graduate of Boston University, Boston University School of
Law, and the Boston University School of Law Graduate Tax Program, from which
he received the degree of Master of Laws in Taxation.
He
spent almost ten years as Assistant Counsel in the Law Department of the John Hancock Mutual Life
Insurance Company.
Mr.
Haddleton is admitted to practice in Massachusetts, Florida, the United States
Tax Court, the United States District Court, and the United States Supreme
Court.
He is a
member of the Massachusetts Bar Association and the Florida Bar Association.
For a number of years he served as Education Coordinator of the Probate Section of the
Massachusetts Bar Association, and for two years was Chair of the Probate Section.
He is a
member of the Section of Taxation, the Section of International Law and Practice, and the
Section of Real Property, Probate and Trust Law of the American Bar Association,
and for ten years served as Chair of a committee of the Section of Real
Property Probate and Trust Law Section American Bar Association dealing with
Surrogate Decision Making - guardianships, durable powers of attorney, and
similar matters. He is also a member of the International Bar Association.
Mr.
Haddleton is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, and is
designated as a Certified Elder Law Attorney by the National Elder Law
Foundation. He is also a member of the Council of Advanced Practitioners.
Mr.
Haddleton has written widely about legal matters and addressed many meetings of
attorneys and other groups.
Mr. Haddleton is a principal in the firm of Haddleton & Associates, P.C., in Hyannis, Massachusetts specializing in estate planning, elder law, corporations, and taxation.
