Marya Robben practices in the areas of estate planning; estate and gift taxation; probate administration; fiduciary representation; trust law; and guardianship and conservatorship administration.

 

Marya frequently writes and speaks on estate planning and probate matters. Nationally, she co-authored an article published in an American Bar Association publication regarding estate planning with life insurance.  She has also presented more than five national seminars on estate planning issues.  On a state level, Marya is active in the Minnesota CLE, serving on the planning committee for its Annual Probate and Trust Law Conference, contributing to its publication Minnesota Marital Deduction Deskbook, and chairing a seminar centered on that publication. She has presented on marital deduction planning and other topics at multiple Minnesota State Bar Association Annual Probate and Trust Law Conferences.  On a local level, Marya chaired the Hennepin County Bar Association's seminars on probate and guardianship and conservatorship topics for several years. In addition, she has presented on fiduciary duties to other professionals.

 

Marya has served on the board of the Minnesota Association of Guardianship and Conservatorship and was editor of the association's quarterly journal. The journal has featured articles written by Marya that address the state's guardianship act, trustee powers and attorneys' ethical duties.

 

As an adjunct professor at the University of St. Thomas Law School, Marya teaches estate and trust law. Before moving into private practice, she served as a judicial clerk for the Hon. Bruce D. Willis at the Minnesota Court of Appeals.
