Barbara Hauser, a trusts and estates lawyer by background, is an independent advisor to global families, with a focus on family governance, family offices, family business continuity, offshore trusts and the coordination of generational transitions.

 

Publications include: "Creating Family Governance Systems in Different Cultures", "Successful Family Business (and Wealth) Transitions: Next Generation Involvement Improves the Odds", "The Four Seasons of Sustainable Wealth", "Family Office Trends: Lessons from Dubai?", "Family Governance: Who, What and How", "Appreciating Beneficiaries", "How to Interview a Corporate Trustee" and "The Next Generation and the Pursuit of Happiness". Books include "Mommy, are we rich?": Talking to Children about Family Money, and International Estate Planning: A Reference Guide.

 

After Wellesley College, and the University of Pennsylvania Law School, Barbara had the honor of clerking at the U.S. Supreme Court, and then was a partner in law firms, a law school professor, and an executive with global investment firms. She is now an independent family advisor, with clients in Europe, Saudi Arabia and Asia.
