Rob Blizard serves as the director of gift planning for George Washington's Mount Vernon.  He also served as a director in the major/planned gifts office of the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS).  His corporate marketing/communications experience includes work at MCI and Marriott.  He writes freelance articles on nonprofit management and fundraising and has been published in such periodicals as Nonprofit Times, Planned Giving Today, AFP's Advancing Philanthropy, DMAW's AdVents, HSUS's Animal Sheltering, and the Society of Animal Welfare Administrators' E-News.  He has taught evening classes part-time at the University of Maryland and Montgomery College.  He holds an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School and a BA from the University of Virginia.
