Biographical Sketch: Prior to joining the Law School faculty in 1977, Professor Solomon served as a law clerk to a federal district court judge in Wilmington, Delaware; practiced with a law firm in New York; and taught at the law school of the University of Missouri. He is the author of numerous books and articles in the areas of corporate and securities law, taxation, business and estate planning, and policy-making. He has served as the Inaugural Arthur Young Visiting Professor of Tax Law at Monash University in Australia, the Inaugural Rupert and Lillian Radford Visiting Professor of Law at Southern Methodist University, the Frances Lewis Scholar-in-Residence at Washington and Lee Law School, and the Heyman Center Scholar-in-Residence at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law. He has also taught at the law schools of the University of Sydney, Australian National University, University of Miami, and Florida State University. |

Biographical Sketch: Lewis J. Saret practices law with the law firm of Moore & Bruce, LLP, where concentrates his practice in the area of federal taxation, with particular emphasis on estate and business succession planning, and international taxation.
Mr. Saret is an active member of several bar, professional, and community organizations. He currently serves as Program Chair for the DC Estate Planning Council, Chair of the Planned Giving Committee for B’nai B’rith International, and Chair of the University Club’s Performing Arts Club Within a Club. Mr. Saret previously served as Vice-Chair of the Asset Protection Planning Committee of the Real Property, Probate and Trust Section of the American Bar Association, and as Chair of the Estate and Gift Tax Committee of the Greater Washington Society of CPAs. Mr. Saret also served on the Steering Committee of the Phillips Contemporaries of the Phillips Collection and the Forums and High Tech Committees of the National Press Club. Mr. Saret received a Vivien Award from the National Press Club in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the Forums Committee. In addition, he serves on the Board of Governors of B’nai B’rith International. Mr. Saret is also a member of the D.C. Estate Planning Council, and the Monte Jade Science and Technology Association.
Mr. Saret received his B.B.A. from Lamar University, his M.B.A. and Masters in Accounting from Rice University, and his J.D. from the George Washington University School of Law.
Mr. Saret is a prolific author and frequent speaker on tax and estate planning issues. He has co-authored numerous books, including Valuation of Closely Held Businesses: Tax and Legal Issues, Asset Protection Strategies: Tax and Legal Aspects, Volumes 1 and 2, and Business Workout Strategies: Tax and Legal Aspects. He served as General Editor of the Journal of Asset Protection, which was published by the RIA Group, and as a Member of the Editorial Advisory Board of the Estate Tax Planning Advisory, published by Panel Publishers. He also assisted with the 1997-1998 revision of Partnerships & Joint Ventures Involving Tax-Exempt Organizations, published by Wiley Law Publishing.

She received her B.A. in Chemistry from the University of Virginia, her M.S. in Biochemistry from the City University of New York, and her Ph.D. in Genetics from the Institute of Biomedical Sciences, George Washington University. She has worked as a chemist and biologist for over thirteen years at the National Institutes of Health, National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, where she has co-authored numerous publications in prestigious journals such as Cell and Nature. |
