Estate Planning Attorney Faces Murder Charges for Forgery
A Missouri attorney faces murder charges after shooting her father and his fiancé. Susan Elizabeth Van Note allegedly forged her father's power of attorney to designate herself as the agent, and then discontinued his medical treatment subsequent to the shooting. Prosecutors say Van Note's forgery and wrongful termination of life support directly caused the family member's death and are the basis for the murder charge.
