IRS To Release Regulations on the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act's Withholding Rules by Year-end

During a recent luncheon, Michael Danilack, IRS Deputy Commissioner (International) for the Large and Mid-Size Business Division, announced that the IRS is on track to issue proposed regulations on the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act's withholding rules by the end of this year. If not issued by the end of December 2011, Deputy Commissioner Danilack stated the regulations will be released in January 2012.
