Don Taylor of Fox Business recently wrote an article about how one who is torn between making a gift to his/her children, but doesn't want to see them squander the money, should handle the situation. Taylor states that gifts should be freely given. For those who want to add more conditions to the gift and want to make sure that a child doesn't spend it unreasonably, Taylor suggests creating a family loan of less than $10,000 and charging interest on the loan.
