Bloomberg has published an article by Ezra Klein titled "Democrats Can Lose Debt Fight, Win on Bush Tax Cuts." In his article, Mr. Klein discusses how the Democrats are going to lose the debt ceiling battle and whatever deal emerges, it will allow the Republicans pocket a trillion dollars or more in cuts without offering anything to Democrats in return.
