The American Family Business Institute (AFBI) hosted a luncheon on June 20th to discuss death tax policy with Congressional staffers. The luncheon was held to help staffers to expand their knowledge and understanding of the current death tax policy, as well as current legislative action concerning HR 1259 "Death Tax Repeal Permanency Act of 2011," which is a proposed amendment to the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to repeal the estate and generation-skipping transfer taxes. The event featured Dick Patten, President of AFBI, and Douglas Holtz-Eakin, a former Director of the Congressional Budget Office. Approximately 45 staffers attended the luncheon.
