According to Steve Garmhausen in his recent article What Are Advisors Doing to Coax Money off the Sidelines?
, Americans are still hesitant to invest in the stock market following the recent financial crisis.  However, financial advisers are slowly making progress by advocating diverse portfolios and by explaining that liquid accounts are still a worse place to keep clients' money than in the securities market.
