HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE 2011 HECKERLING CONFERENCE

Steve Akers, Fiduciary Counsel, will host a discussion covering highlights from the 2011 University of Miami Heckerling Institute on Estate Planning, with a focus on planning strategies under the new paradigm of planning introduced by the Tax Relief Act of 2010. The discussion will also address developments since that time, including announcements regarding the Form 8939 carryover basis report, what we know about procedures to elect carryover basis rather than the estate tax regime for 2010 estates, and the GST proposal in the President's Budget Proposal for Fiscal Year 2012.
