According to the Wall Street Journal, "The Bipartisan Policy Center is proposing an overhaul of the U.S. tax system that would lower income and corporate tax rates and offset them with a 6.5% national sales or "consumption" tax [and] an excise tax on sugar drinks like soda." In response, the Journal is conducting a poll that asks: "Should income and corporate taxes be lowered and a consumption or national sales tax be imposed?"
