Tax Preparer Registration is All Costs and No Benefits

TrackBacks (0) Comments (0)

Kip Dellinger, CPA criticizes the tax preparer registration proposals for adding substantial costs and complications that will hurt the industry with little of the hoped for benefit.  Dellinger offers a few suggestions to help the proposals including broadening the definition of mechanical assistance to include individuals who enter data on tax returns that are still subject to review by preparers and to eliminate the testing and continuing education requirements for nonsigning preparers.
