Abigail Disney, filmaker and philanthropist, recently wrote an article in USA Today entitled, "Mickey Mouse, the estate tax and me." In it she argues that her family's business would not have been able to succeed without the legal protections provided by the government and that these services are vital to the business community. Specifically, she argues that the estate tax would be an appropriate way to provide the needed funds and would also preserve the meritocracy the country was built upon.
