Tax Policy Center: Philanthropy and the Estate Tax

The Tax Policy Center, a joint venture of the Urban Institute and the Brookings Intuition, recently published an interesting article titled "Philanthropy and the Estate Tax." The article discusses the effect the estate tax lapse has on charitable contributions and questions why the philanthropic sector has kept quiet despite its history of speaking out when tax law lessens the incentive to make charitable contributions.
