On January 27 at the 2010 Heckerling Institute on Estate Planning, Gideon Rothschild presented a session on asset protection planning as part of the Institute's Fundamentals Program. Rothschild highlighted the importance of asset protection for a variety of clients and also stressed the need to fully vet clients before establishing an asset protection program in order to avoid any contribution to a "fraudulent transfer" of assets that could violate civil or criminal law. Rothschild also discussed foreign and domestic trusts at length.
