The ABA Journal, in an article titled "Grade Anxiety." reports that number of online attorney rating sites has increased dramatically in the past few years.. The article highlights two new rating sites, Avvo and the Association of Corporate Counsel's Value Index. According to the Journal, these sites present potential problems to attorneys wishing to challenge negative ratings on the site, as well as attorneys who would like to advertise positive ratings to clients. "Just as consumers now look up the ratings of physicians before they select one, they'll get in the habit of checking a lawyer's credentials and ratings," the article quotes one Florida attorney as saying.
