The ABA Journal, in an article titled "Exclusive: Inside the New Westlaw, Lexis & Bloomberg Platforms," reports that the recent entrance of Google and Bloomberg into the legal research market has created legitimate competition to LexisNexis and Westlaw. The article notes that in response to the new market competitors Westlaw has revamped its research platform and Lexis is planning its own revision sometime this year. "After decades of Westlaw and Lexis rolling out incremental improvements, real innovation has become the watchword in online legal research. At stake: billions in revenue and a big piece of your computer desktop."
