U.S. District Court Dismisses Claims Under ERISA and State Law Against People Who Gave Advice Regarding Deductions that IRS Later Disallowed

The U.S,. District Court, Central District of Illinois, Peoria Division, in C. Johnson et al. v. Sec. Mut. Life Ins. Co. of New York et al., Sec. Mut. Life Ins. Co. of New York v. Katzman et al., dismissed claims against individuals and their company that advised employee unionization and the formation of a tax-exempt voluntary employees' benefit association to receive deductions that the IRS subsequently disallowed.
