IRS Announces February AFRs

Revenue Ruling 2010-6 provides various prescribed rates for federal income tax purposes for February 2010 (current month) including the applicable federal interest rates, the adjusted applicable federal interest rates, the adjusted federal long-term rate, the adjusted federal long-term tax-exempt rate. These rates are determined as prescribed by section 1274.

The section 7520 rate is 3.4 percent.

The AFRs are as follows:

Short-Term:

  • Annual:                  .72 percent
  • Semi-Annual:          .72 percent         
  • Quarterly:               .72 percent
  • Monthly:                 .72 percent
Mid-Term:
  • Annual:                  2.82 percent
  • Semi-Annual:          2.80 percent
  • Quarterly:               2.79 percent
  • Monthly:                 2.78 percent

Long-Term:

  • Annual:                  4.44 percent
  • Semi-Annual:          4.39 percent
  • Quarterly:               4.37 percent
  • Monthly:                 4.35 percent
