In a letter published by Tax Analysts, attorney Conrad Teitell, of Cummings and Lockwood LLC, urges Senate Finance Committee Chair Max Baucus and ranking minority member Chuck Grassley to take action now to prevent the use of retroactive legislation later. Teitell observes that a retroactive change to the estate tax would essentially "make estate planning a roll of the dice."
