The ABA Journal has published, in its December 2009 issue, an article by Christian A. Stiegmeyer, director of risk management at the Bar Plan Mutual Insurance Co. in St. Louis, Missouri, entitled "The End-of-Representation Talk Doesn't Always Mean the End."  The article discusses the merits of a  closing letter after the preparation of estate planning documents, which letter protects the client's and the attorney's interests, what content in the letter is necessary to protect these interests, and drafting methods that will ensure protection of these interests.
