IRS Announces January AFRs

Revenue Ruling 2010-1 provides various prescribed rates for federal income tax purposes for January 2010 (current month) including the applicable federal interest rates, the adjusted applicable federal interest rates, the adjusted federal long-term rate, the adjusted federal long-term tax-exempt rate. These rates are determined as prescribed by section 1274.

The section 7520 rate is 3.0 percent.

The AFRs are as follows:

Short-Term:

  • Annual:                  .57 percent
  • Semi-Annual:          .57 percent         
  • Quarterly:               .57 percent
  • Monthly:                 .57 percent
Mid-Term:

  • Annual:                  2.45 percent
  • Semi-Annual:          2.44 percent
  • Quarterly:               2.43 percent
  • Monthly:                 2.43 percent
Long-Term:

  • Annual:                  4.11 percent
  • Semi-Annual:          4.07 percent
  • Quarterly:               4.05 percent
  • Monthly:                 4.04 percent
