The New York Times reports that Anthony Marshall, son of Brooke Astor, has been convicted of larceny and defrauded his mother out of tens of millions of dollars after more than three months of testimony and arguments in State Supreme Court in Manhatten. Francis X. Morrissey Jr, a lawyer who did estate planning for Mrs. Astor, was also convicted of a series of faud and conspiracy charges, as well as one count of forging Mrs. Astor's signature on an amendment to her will. Mr. Astor faces a sentence between one and twenty five years, however, his lawyer feels that they have a strong case for an appeal.
