Tax Notes has published an article by H. David Rosenbloom, an associate at Caplin & Drysdale's Washington office and Visiting Professor and director of the International Tax Program at the New York University Law School. Rosenbloom posits that there are two problems associated with taxation in the United States. The first problem is the lack of support for the IRS by the Federal Government at large. Rosenbloom believes the Obama Administration should extend gratitude and appreciation for the work of the IRS, instead of vilifying it like previous administrations and politicians to increase moral at the Service. Additionally, Rosenbloom believes taxation policy must be simplified so it can be more easily understood and implemented. This can only come to fruition if there is political will on the part of our lawmakers.
