IRS Announces September AFRs

Revenue Ruling 2009-29 provides various prescribed rates for federal income tax
purposes for September 2009 (current month) including the applicable federal interest rates, the adjusted applicable federal interest rates, the adjusted federal long-term rate, the adjusted federal long-term tax-exempt rate. These rates are determined as prescribed by ยง 1274.  

The Section 7520 rate is 3.4 percent.

The AFRs are as follows:

Short-Term:
  • Annual:                0.84 percent
  • Semi-Annual:       0.84 percent
  • Quarterly:            0.84 percent
  • Monthly:              0.84 percent
Mid-Term:
  • Annual:               1.99 percent
  • Semi-Annual:       1.98 percent
  • Quarterly:            1.98 percent
  • Monthly:              1.97 percent
Long-Term
  • Annual:               4.33 percent
  • Semi-Annual:       4.28 percent
  • Quarterly:            4.26 percent
  • Monthly:              4.24 percent
