PLR 200925032: State Trust's Income is Exempt Because it Stems from Essential Government Function's Exercise

In PLR 200925032, the Internal Revenue Service ruled that the income of a trust created by a state to help pay for retired state employees' medical benefits can be excluded from gross income under section 115(1) because the income stems from the exercise of an essential government function.
