The IRS Criminal Investigation Division (CID) wants publicity. Watch Out!! These are the IRS agents with badges, and guns. Tax Notes Today notes that the IRS Criminal Investigation Division is making a coordinated effort to increase its publicity, according to Marshall Griffith, CI Director. More publicity means that this will deter additional tax fraud and evasion. CID is cracking down on abusive tax schemes, noting that abusive trusts are the most common type of case in that area.
